The KUKA Charging Assistant is a user-friendly solution for domestic charging of electric vehicles.

It is a complete and customized new development of kinematics, controller and image processing, that meets the special requirements in terms of price, safety and environmental conditions. The industrial robot manufacturer KUKA presents the first robot for home use and opens up a completely new field of application in the field of automation.

As soon as an electric car is parked next to the charging assistant, the flap of the charging port opens automatically on this vehicle. Afterwards, the robot arm with its plug autonomously controlled by WLAN control and optical detection by camera, the connection coupling and then recharges the batteries. The driver does not have to worry about the charging process.

The design avoids bruising and injury hazards. The leverage is reduced to a safe level. This becomes especially important when children are directly at the robot. The coloring is adapted to the CI of the company and fits seamlessly into the product family of the robot company.

Er ist eine vollständige und maßgeschneiderte Neuentwicklung von Kinematik, Steuerung und Bildverarbeitung, die den speziellen Anforderungen bezüglich Preis, Sicherheit und Umgebungsbedingungen gerecht wird. Der Industrieroboterhersteller KUKA präsentiert den ersten Roboter für den Heimbereich und eröffnet ein völlig neues Anwendungsgebiet.

Sobald ein Elektroauto neben dem Ladeassistenten geparkt wird, öffnet an diesem Fahrzeug automatisch die Klappe des Ladeanschlusses. Anschließend fährt der Roboterarm mit seinem Stecker autonom gesteuert per WLAN-Steuerung und optischer Erfassung per Kamera die Anschlusskupplung an und lädt anschließend die Akkus auf. Der Fahrer muss sich nicht weiter um den Ladevorgang kümmern.

Das Design vermeidet Quetschungen und Verletzungsgefahren. Auch die Hebelkräfte sind auf ein unbedenkliches Maß ausgelegt. Das wird dann besonders wichtig, wenn sich Kinder direkt am Roboter aufhalten. Die Farbgebung ist auf das CI der Firma abgestimmt und passt nahtlos in die Produktfamilie der Roboterfirma.
