This statement is our motivation. A product is only able to gain the user’s full trust if it exudes reliability and sophistication. After all, an impressive, high-quality appearance is the first effective communication of technical performance.
We reveal what's inside, showcasing both technical excellence and visual sophistication at the highest level. Striking aesthetics and a distinctive character command attention and leave a lasting impression. Unique features highlight the product’s exclusivity and infuse the design with a strong sense of individuality. This clearly sets our products apart from the competition, while the consistent creativity across the product line strengthens the brand’s identity.
Sustainable design reflects the Zeitgeist, marking the end of wasteful, short-lived trends. Expressive contours, aesthetic lightness, timeless form, and harmonious proportions give the product a healthy, appealing presence that brings long-lasting enjoyment to users. A conscious, responsible approach to material use conserves valuable resources and minimizes energy waste.
Mario Selić founded his office Selić Industriedesign in Augsburg, Germany, in 1999 after gaining extensive
experience in the design of consumer and investment goods—particularly in robotics and automation
processes. With over 35 years of professional experience, his work focuses on the development of
high-quality, long-lasting products with a responsible approach to resource use, principles he
primarily implemented during his time with the KUKA Robotic Team.
Mario studied physics and mathematics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and later pursued
industrial design at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. In 1997, he was appointed as a professor
in the field of investment goods at the prestigious International Graduate School of Industrial Design in
Seoul, South Korea.
His contributions to the field have earned him numerous international design awards. Since 2019, he has
served as a jury member for several leading design competitions, including the Red Dot Award: Product
Design in Essen, Red Dot Award: Design Concept in Singapore, Contemporary Good Design Award in Xiamen,
China, and the iF Design Award.
Tino Selić studied Interactive Media (B.A.) at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and is currently
completing his M.A. in New Media at Aalto University in Espoo, Finland. As a versatile designer and
creative developer, his expertise spans a wide range of creative and technical disciplines—from 3D
modeling and animation to web development and interactive audiovisual media experiences.
He often integrates insights from large language models (LLMs) into the design process, yet approaches
technology with both sensitivity and critical awareness—emphasizing the ethical dimensions of
automation
and advocating for design practices that consider both human and non-human actors.
Through his perspective and skill set, Tino expands Selić Industriedesign’s range of services and brings
fresh inspiration and innovative approaches to future product developments.
